Restaurant Review: MeeT, Gastown, Vancouver

Another move, another country and yet another beginning. This post comes after a long gap on my blog – I left India and moved to Vancouver, Canada at the end of last year. So I’ve been busy all this time trying to settle down etc. But I am here now and live in the beautiful Yaletown. Vancouver feels like the final destination so far – fingers crossed 🙂

This city has so much to offer in terms of beauty, weather, nature and above all food. I have explored many places and have a few favorites already. Today’s post however is about a vegetarian restaurant in the heart of Gastown in Vancouver. There are a few all vegetarian restaurants here but MeeT stands out the most with their fusion menu and whimsical & casual atmosphere. The restaurant is open for for both lunch and dinner and is packed most of the time, so be prepared to either wait or go during non peak hours. I love such places that are casual and have great food to offer. MeeT is famous for their burgers (all veg of course) and they are served with a generous side of fries and a small house salad. Its more than you can eat. They come in 8 different flavors and the one featured in this post is their most famous the Angry Burg which is a beer battered burger tossed in buffalo hot sauce & topped with guacamole and cool ranch dressing. My favorite however are the macro bowls. They are rice base bowl with various flavor combinations and if you prefer, you can swap rice with quinoa. The bowls come in 5 different flavor combinations to choose from and I had the Macro Bowl which is marinated tofu, organic brown rice, steamed broccoli, kale, chili flakes and sauteed mushroom with cashew gravy finished with green onions, sesame seeds and marinated mung beans sprouts. Other than burgers and bowls they have a good variety of fries and salad to chose from so all in all I think its a pretty great menu.

It makes me happy to see a restaurant dedicated to vegetarian food – with such a good flavor profile. I really like this place – for its food, the decor and the overall vibe. MeeT has another location on Main street. To learn more about the restaurant and its hours visit their website here
